THE HEALTH CAPTAINS COLLEGE
LEADERSHIP ACADEMY – ETHICS TRACK
360º Next Generation Lifecare Ethical Leadership
MISSION
To prepare Lifecare leaders across sectors to uphold and advance a renewed ethical foundation for 21st-century medicine and health systems. Informed by the historic values of Hippocrates of Kos and adapted to the realities of precision health, AI, planetary health, and personalized medicine, this track empowers participants to lead ethically in a time of systemic transformation from Sickcare to Lifecare.
CONTEXT: THE HIPPOCRATIC TURNING POINT
The global transformation from reactive Sickcare to proactive Lifecare demands not only innovation and system redesign, but also a deep ethical reorientation.
This shift—toward sustaining the Healthspan of individuals and societies—must be built on a shared, future-ready value framework: one that extends the Hippocratic Oath beyond physicians to include all professionals and sectors contributing to human and planetary health.
Kos Island, the historical cradle of Western medical ethics, becomes the symbolic and intellectual anchor of this curriculum. Here, participants engage with the legacy of Hippocrates to co-create a modern Health Captains Hippocratic Oath, uniting science, technology, and human dignity in a common ethical compass.
CORE PRINCIPLES
Participants will explore and apply ethical leadership across the following domains, all central to enabling a just and sustainable Lifespan Economy:
Integrity of Data and Science: Trust in AI, genomics, and precision medicine begins with the reproducibility, traceability, and transparency of clinical, molecular, and digital data.
Equity and Access: Innovation must reduce—not widen—health disparities. Ethical leaders must embed inclusion in design, distribution, and governance of Lifecare systems.
Sovereignty and Consent: Individuals must retain agency over their health data, choices, and outcomes. Consent processes must evolve for continuous data-driven environments.
Stewardship and Sustainability: Health leadership must protect human and planetary well-being across generations, aligning ethical decision-making with One Health and climate action.
Professional Duty in a Digital Age: The Hippocratic ethos must expand beyond medical doctors to include technologists, researchers, investors, and policy leaders within a unified ethical ecosystem.
